Parent Implementation Program (PIP)

The Parent Implementation Program (PIP) is designed to support children with behavior challenges and provide their caregivers with effective strategies to parent more efficiently. If you are experiencing significant behavioral difficulties with your child and are interested in learning new strategies to address the behavior, our Parent Implementation Program is here to help. Children should be between 3-6 years old.

The Parent Implementation Program includes individual training sessions and opportunities to practice new skills learned within a safe and professional setting. PIP staff includes experienced parents who have been through the program with their own child and understand what you are going through.

CVESD'S Parent Implementation Program (PIP) is a certified expansion site of the internationally recognized Regional Intervention Program which was established in 1969 at Vanderbilt University. CVESD's PIP is the only program of its kind on the west coast and provides parents, guardians and families of children ages 3-6 with free behavioral and social-emotional intervention training and support. What makes PIP unique is the focus on the parent/guardian and empowering families to maximize positive, developmentally appropriate behavior in their children experiencing mild to severe behavioral challenges. This early intervention program teaches parents to utilize research backed evidence-based strategies that have proven outcomes for participants, including a significant decrease in aggression and antisocial behavior throughout adolescence and higher rates of high school and college graduation. With all the ups and downs that may present throughout the journey as a parent, PIP is here to help with its primary focus of breaking old behavior patterns, resulting in a more positive family dynamic.

PIP Program:

  • PIP meets every Monday and Wednesday
  • Morning session: 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon session: noon - 2:00 p.m.
  • No fees: Your contribution will be through participation by volunteering your time later as a "payback parent.”
