Professional Development Opportunities
The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is dedicated to fostering continuous learning,
professional development, and career advancement through a variety of programs. From residency programs
to educator discounts, employees have the opportunity to engage, learn, and grow at CVESD.
ASPIRE Teacher Residency Program
In partnership with National University, The ASPIRE Teacher Residency Program is tailored to prepare
classroom teachers for success. Participants are eligible for a $40,000 stipend from the district,
scholarships from National University, and a teaching position at CVESD.
Aspiring Administrators Academy
For employees interested in becoming a school or district administrator,
CVESD hosts an annual cohort for teachers who are interested in
obtaining a California Administrative Services Credential or
earning a master’s degree in educational leadership.
SDSU Doctoral Program
In collaboration with San Diego State University, CVESD has
an annual doctoral degree cohort for educators interested in
pursuing their doctoral degrees.
Early Childhood Grant for TK
For staff members aspiring to become transitional kindergarten
or preschool teachers, CVESD has an Early Childhood Grant
Program that covers tuition for prospective teachers in early
childhood education. Space for this program is limited.
