Meetings Details
The Board typically convenes on a Wednesday once a month for regularly scheduled meetings. Besides these regular meetings, the Board may also gather for special meetings as needed. The usual location of meetings is the Dr. Lowell Billings Board Room at the Education Service and Support Center, 84 East J Street, Chula Vista.
Live Streaming
Board of Education meetings will be live streamed for the public’s convenience. Links to the live stream will be made available on the home page of the District’s website. Persons wishing to address the Board of Education on any agenda item may attend in person or call 619-679-9001 prior to the start of the meeting.
Organizational Meeting
Every December, during the organizational meeting, the Board adopts a regular meeting calendar for the following year--listed below. The schedule includes links to agendas and their related documents as well as minutes, audio, and reports as pertinent. If you need documentation from a meeting that is not listed, please contact us using the Let's Talk! button below (also found on the left hand side of the screen throughout our website) and we will make every effort to accommodate your request. Please ensure you choose "Board of Education" as the topic.
Addressing the Board
The Board welcomes public input, and the Brown Act requires that members of the public are permitted to address the Board on matters within the Board’s jurisdiction during Board meetings. Persons wishing to address the Board of Education on any agenda item should complete a “Request to Be Heard” card and submit it to the Recording Secretary prior to the start of the meeting or call 619-679-9001 prior to the start of the meeting. No action or discussion shall be undertaken on any item not appearing on the posted agenda, except the Board of Education or District staff may briefly respond to statements made or questions posed by persons exercising their public testimony rights under Government Code Section 54954.3. Speakers must limit remarks to three minutes (generally, statements of 390 words may be spoken out loud within three minutes). The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each topic to 20 minutes. With Board consent, the President may increase or decrease the time allowed for public presentation depending on the subject and the number of persons wishing to be heard
