School Menus

The Chula Vista Elementary School District believes in nourishing young minds by actively participating in the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs. At all our elementary school sites, including preschool programs, we serve delicious breakfast and lunch every single day. We also have a second-chance breakfast for those who missed out in the morning. To learn more, click on the school list link to reach out to your specific school site.

We know how important it is for students to understand where their food comes from and appreciate what's on their tray. That's why, since 2012, we've teamed up with Food 4 Thought to bring the freshest seasonal produce straight to your school's cafeteria. Food 4 Thought is an amazing company that sources quality products from small, family-owned California farms that are as committed to student health as we are. They make it possible for us to offer 3-5 different produce options through their fantastic 'Farm to School' program. You can view our school menu to see what we are offering this month.

At Child Nutrition Services, we follow the "Offer vs. Serve" program set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This means your student gets to make their own lunchtime decisions. They can pick one out of three delicious entrees for lunch, and we've got 1% white milk or non-fat unflavored or flavored milk to go with it. They can also load up their trays with as many fresh fruits and vegetables as they want. For breakfast, they can choose from three different entrees, grab fruit, and enjoy 1% or nonfat unflavored milk.

At CVESD we are all about empowering students to make healthy choices and fueling their bodies and minds for a successful day of learning.

Nutrition Information

We strive to offer the best quality products in our cafeterias and are continually looking for new ways to bring in more appealing and nutritious foods. We are highly regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in that we are not able to serve just anything in our schools. We are required to serve a wide variety of fruits and vegetables as well as whole grain products that are lower in sodium and saturated fat. Everything we serve is a healthy counterpart to what may look like a "fast food" menu. For more detailed information on the items we serve, please contact our Registered Dietitians, at 619-425-9600, Ext. 181405 or Ext. 181406.

Allergy Information

Your student's safety is of the utmost importance to us in Child Nutrition Services. We work as a team with our dietitians, parents, nurses, and cafeteria staff to ensure the proper meal accommodation is made for the students that require it. If you feel that your child needs a special meal accommodation, please contact your student's school nurse to obtain information about the Medical Statement for Special Meal Accommodation form.
