LEAD Program
The district's LEAD Program is a free program funded by the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) and After School Education and Safety (ASES) grants. All school sites offer LEAD Clubs and LEAD Hub, formerly the STRETCH and DASH programs. The LEAD Program is free to transitional kindergarten through sixth grade students who meet program qualifications.
Program Qualifications
Space is limited for LEAD Programs. Priority participation is granted to foster youth, unsheltered students living in hotels/motels, temporarily doubled-up or living in shelters, English language learners, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students. After the highest priority students are registered, additional students will be registered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that applying does not guarantee acceptance into the LEAD Program.
LEAD Hub
CVESD's LEAD Hub Program, in partnership with the San Diego County YMCA, provides free before and after school programs at all district schools. Previously known as STRETCH and DASH, LEAD Hub aims to create a safe, supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. The program combines recreation, tutoring, and enrichment activities. LEAD Hub is free for students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. LEAD Hub will be on the 180-day calendar. The hours will vary by school site and depend on the school’s start and end times.
*Before school programs are not offered at every school site.
LEAD Clubs
CVESD's LEAD Clubs Program is offered at all district schools. LEAD Clubs offers a variety of educational and enrichment offerings that vary by school site. Examples of LEAD Clubs may include academic support, robotics, music, sports, and more. Students participating in the LEAD Clubs learn new skills and interact with peers in a physically and emotionally safe environment.
*Operating days and hours will vary by school site.
