We are excited to share the latest California School Dashboard (Dashboard) ratings for the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD), reflecting the dedication and excellence of our schools. The recently released ratings showcase the continued commitment to academic achievement, equity, and social-emotional wellness.
The 2023 Dashboard reports performance and progress from the 2022-23 school year in the following areas:
- Chronic Absenteeism
- Suspension Rate
- English Learner Progress
- English Language Arts
- Mathematics
- Academic Indicators
CVESD students' scores increased from the prior school year, with Mathematics and English Learner Progress scores surpassing the state and countywide averages. In English Language Arts, students have maintained their above-standard performance. All local indicators, including teachers, instructional materials, facilities, parent and family engagement, and implementation of academic standards, have met the set standards. We are also thrilled to report a 9.4% decline in chronic absenteeism in the past school year.
“The Dashboard results highlight the hard work that our students and staff continue to do daily,” said Superintendent Eduardo Reyes, Ed.D. “We remain committed to our vision of teaching and learning to ensure that our students achieve academic and emotional success in the 21st century and beyond.”
The Dashboard is part of the state's new accountability system, based on the Local Control Funding Formula. It is one of many major changes in public education that has created more rigorous academic standards for students, changed how students are assessed and placed a greater emphasis on equity for all students. The Dashboard results provide valuable information about the effectiveness of learning efforts and other programs implemented to support student success. To view CVESD’s Dashboard, click here.
