Classified Testing Information

Important Information for All Tests:

  • Testing Site: Chula Vista Elementary School District Office, 84 East J Street, Chula Vista, CA 91910
  • No late admittance. No exceptions.
  • Each test has limited testing capacity and space is reserved for CVESD applicants only.
  • Must have valid picture I.D.
  • Must provide a negative COVID-19 test prior to participating. (Rapid Tests are acceptable and must be conducted 48 hours before)
  • Testing dates and times subject to change without notice.

Test Results and Application Process:

  • Test results will be MAILED to the address you provide (Please allow 3 weeks for processing)
  • With a passing score, you are able to apply to any Open Position requiring successful passing of applicable test.
  • If interested in applying as a SUBSTITUTE, please contact the HR department via email at:  [email protected]
  • You will be provided with a checklist of items to submit in order to start the Substitute hiring process.

Please Note: Each applicant will be allowed 3 attempts to pass any one test per school year. The new school year begins July 1st.

Instructional Assistant/Student Attendant

  • PIease click on the following link to sign up for  the Instructional Assistant/Student Attendant proficiency exam. If you have additional questions, please contact the Human Resources Department at (619) 425-9600 Ext. 181340
  • NO WALK INS ACCEPTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Requirements: Picture ID, $7.00 exact change, or bring original receipt of payment from the previous test during current school year only.
  • Applicants with Associate's degree or higher may request to waive the IA/SA Proficiency Examination. A copy of official transcript or diploma must be presented to Human Resources during application process for verification purposes. If you have a foreign degree, you will need to complete the Language and Written portion of the exam.

Clerical (Limited to 50 Slots)
