 New Classified Applicant Procedure (Non-Substitute)
The basic procedure to become a classified substitute and/or be on our classified employable list.

1. Pass the CVESD Proficiency Test. When you pass the test, you will receive a letter in the mail with instructions on how to begin the application process. (If you are applying for an Instructional Assistant or Student Attendant substitute position AND you have a U.S. Associate's degree or higher OR you have already passed CBEST please click on the "Application Requirements" below for specific instructions on how to apply).

HR will not process incomplete applications or applications that do not include all required materials listed in the instructions.

2. Obtain Livescan Request Form from Human Resources Department and attend a LiveScan processing center for fingerprinting. (Details will be provided via email when you are selected to move forward in the hiring/onboarding process.)

When you submit your application via Edjoin, it is automatically forwarded to hiring department for review. Should you be selected for an interview, the site will reach out directly to schedule interviews. If recommended for the position, the site will notify the Human Resources Department so that they can initiate the onboarding process.
