Congratulations to Ms. Lalaine Perez on her recognition for advancing biliteracy initiatives across the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD). She was recognized at the 23rd annual San Diego Leadership in Biliteracy Symposium, hosted by the San Diego County Office of Education.
Ms. Perez is the Executive Director of Language Development and State and Federal Programs. Her strategic leadership in advancing CVESD's biliteracy initiatives, particularly in implementing the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Master Plan, has led to significant growth in dual language program enrollment and improved educational outcomes. Ms. Perez's advocacy for English Learner goals at the county and state levels and her efforts in enhancing parent leadership through the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) underscores her commitment to fostering collaboration and inclusivity.
CVESD was also recognized with the 2023 Biliteracy Pathway Recognition. Superintendent Eduardo Reyes, Ed.D., accepted this honor on behalf of the district and expressed his gratitude, stating, "This recognition reflects our commitment to providing enriching educational experiences that empower students to succeed in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world."
We are proud of the collective efforts of our district to enhance biliteracy throughout CVESD.
