The Chula Vista Elementary School District, alongside San Diego Unified School District, hosted a historic educational event to bring awareness to migrant education, binational students, and teacher exchange programs.
Participants included leadership from local school districts, education officials from Mexico, and the California Department of Education. The Cross-Border Educational Event focused on the importance of strengthening international partnerships in support of migrant, binational, and multilingual students. Event highlights included a morning breakfast networking session, student performances, tours of two of CVESD’s newest schools, and a press conference.
Superintendent Eduardo Reyes, Ed.D. was proud to share that the Chula Vista Elementary School District has a diverse student population with many binational students, including 28% of students being English Language Learners.
The district was honored to participate in this important exchange of information and look forward to building partnerships and collaborating with our international partners in our shared mission to provide the best educational experience for all students.
