Meet the Superintendent

As the Superintendent of the largest TK-6 school district in California, Dr. Eduardo Reyes is passionate about ensuring each student is afforded opportunities to develop their own individual potential. He is deeply committed to the Chula Vista Elementary School District's mission of providing a successful, safe, challenging, and nurturing educational experience while promoting the joy and importance of learning for all children.

Dr. Reyes earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a master's degree in Business Administration, an educational specialist degree in Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Dr. Reyes began his career in the private sector as a financial analyst and transitioned into education after a few years. He began his educational journey as a teacher 27 years ago. He has served as a site and district administrator for the past 22 years. Dr. Reyes understands and fully believes in the power of education. He knows first-hand that educational opportunities can change lives and generations.

Dr. Reyes has always fought to ensure students receive a quality education and has promoted and created school environments that are safe and inclusive for students, staff, and parents. He is known as a visionary instructional leader focused on student achievement. In addition, he has continuously worked with all stakeholders to help children achieve and maximize their individual potential. Dr. Reyes believes that every child can reach greatness if provided access to the right opportunities.
