Meet CVESD's Parent Ambassadors

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is kicking off year two of its Parent Ambassador Program for the 2026–27 school year, continuing its commitment to enhancing family engagement and collaboration with families across the district.

The Parent Ambassador Program is a districtwide initiative designed to strengthen connections among families, schools, and the district. As part of Goal 5 in CVESD’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), the program provides families with opportunities to be active partners in shaping priorities and initiatives at both the school and district levels.

Through a network of parent and guardian representatives, Parent Ambassadors serve as a bridge between their school communities and the district, helping share information, gather family perspectives, and support opportunities for greater family involvement.

For the 2026–27 school year, CVESD is expanding the program to include both returning and new Parent Ambassadors. Parents and guardians who participated in last year’s program and chose to continue their service are now serving as Senior Parent Ambassadors. In addition, new Parent Ambassadors have joined the program at school sites across the district. With this expanded structure, each school site may have up to two Parent Ambassadors representing their school community.

The combination of returning and new ambassadors creates opportunities for experienced Parent Ambassadors to share their knowledge while welcoming new voices and perspectives into the program.

Parent Ambassadors meet quarterly at the district office to learn more about CVESD programs, services, and initiatives and to connect with district leaders and fellow Parent Ambassadors. Throughout the school year, Parent Ambassadors also collaborate with their school principals to support and enhance family engagement at their school sites. Through these ongoing conversations and partnerships, ambassadors help strengthen communication between schools and families while building relationships with families throughout CVESD.

CVESD looks forward to continuing its partnership with its Parent Ambassadors throughout the 2026–27 school year and working together to strengthen connections across school communities and expand opportunities for meaningful family engagement.
