Get Ready, ELPAC is Here!

ELPAC is Here Graphic

Students in the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) are gearing up for our annual English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC). ELPAC is a required state test of English language proficiency (ELP) administered to students whose primary language is not English. The test is administered to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

ELPAC will be administered to CVESD students from February 3 through May 30, 2026. As testing begins, we encourage parents/guardians to support their child by preparing for the ELPAC. Here are some ways you can help support your child:

  • Ensure your child attends school and arrives on time.
  • Make sure your child gets to bed early and gets a good night’s sleep.
  • Feed your child a healthy breakfast before dropping them off at school.
  • Encourage your child to do their best and remind them that their test performance does not solely determine their academic progress.

As a parent/guardian, you play a crucial role in supporting your child’s academic success, including preparing for the ELPAC. By leveraging insights from the test, we can continue to strive to provide high-quality education for all students and ensure they are prepared for the 21st century and beyond.
