CVESD Launches Five New Community Schools

Students working on a creative project

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is proud to announce the launch of five new community schools: Castle Park, Lauderbach, Montgomery, Otay, and Vista Square Elementary Schools. This marks a significant step forward in the district’s commitment to providing holistic, student-centered education that supports academic success and family well-being.

As Community Schools, additional supports will be provided to students, families, and staff, including academic, health, and social services, and family engagement. The goal is to transform each school into a hub of opportunity and support for students and their families.

We are thrilled to bring Community Schools to these five schools,” said a CVESD Director of Community Schools. “This approach allows us to better serve our students by removing barriers to learning and co-creating stronger partnerships with families and local organizations."

Each school will have a dedicated Community Schools Site Coordinator, who will work closely with school administrators, teachers, families, and community partners to develop programs tailored to the unique needs of their school community.
