As part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District’s (CVESD) family engagement initiatives, the district hosted its inaugural Station Experiences Parent Field Trip at the Health Station located at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.

Over 30 parents/guardians participated in the field trip where they learned about our Station Experiences Program, including all about the Health Station, participated in hands-on activities and learning, and even had the opportunity to dine in the dining hall with Olympic athletes. Parents/guardians who have a child in 3rd or 4th grade were nominated by their principal, and were able to see first-hand what their child has learned, or will learn, when they visit the Health Station in 4th grade.

The Station Experiences Program includes six different experiences that start in the 4th grade through the 6th grade. In 4th grade, students visit the Health Station, in 5th grade, students visit the Life Station and Hydro Station, and in sixth grade, students visit the Innovation Station, Energy Station, and Sound Station.

The Station Experiences Parent Field Trip is a three-year family engagement initiative to give parents/guardians an immersive look into the innovative programs offered at the district. Each year, the field trip will focus on a different set of stations tied to a grade level.
