CVESD Hosts Food Drive to Support Chula Vista Families

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD), in partnership with the Chula Vista Community Collaborative (CVCC), is hosting a district-wide food drive from October 20 through November 7, 2025.

Students, families, and staff are encouraged to contribute by bringing non-perishable food items to their participating school or the district office. All donations will be collected and boxed to share with families across Chula Vista.

This year’s food drive also includes a decorated bin contest. Participating schools can design their collection bins, with district staff selecting the most creative entry. The top school will receive a fun assembly, and all of its students will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a four-pack of tickets to SeaWorld San Diego and a four-pack of tickets to Sesame Place San Diego. The contest results will be announced on October 27, 2025.

Suggested Donation Items:

  • Proteins: Peanut butter, meat (chicken, tuna, spam, chili w/meat), and bagged dried beans.
  • Healthy Carbs: Mixed vegetables, carrots, sweet potatoes, soup, canned tomatoes, and green beans.
  • Fruits: Any canned fruit.
