The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) welcomed over 1,500 families, staff, and community members from across the district to its 5th Annual Community Expo on Saturday, July 25, kicking off the 2026–27 school year.

Held at the district office from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the free event brought together students, families, staff, and community partners for an afternoon filled with food, fun, and valuable resources. Families explored interactive booths, participated in engaging activities for all ages, and connected with the many programs and services available to support student success throughout the school year.

District departments participating in the expo included Communications, Child Nutrition Services, Early Childhood Education, Instructional Services, Special Education, Transportation,  and many more. Community organizations also participated in the event, sharing information about local services and resources to strengthen and support CVESD families.

“We look forward to our annual Community Expo every year! It is a wonderful way to bring our families and staff together at the start of the school year and showcase the many services available to support our students and families,” said Superintendent Eduardo Reyes, Ed.D.

The event was proudly sponsored by North Island Credit Union, Balfour Beatty Construction, Republic Services, ASI Hastings, Inc., and La Buqueria Books. Their generous support helped make this year's Community Expo a success.

As families prepare for the new school year, events like the Community Expo reflect CVESD's ongoing commitment to fostering strong school-family partnerships and ensuring every student has the resources they need to thrive.
