California Dashboard Highlights CVESD’s Commitment to Continuous Improvement  

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) remains committed to continuous improvement for all students. The California School Dashboard and the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) provide important insights into student growth, achievement trends, and progress across all student groups, helping the district understand and respond to the needs of learners. 

The California School Dashboard is the state's accountability system that provides a comprehensive view of performance across multiple indicators. One important part of this system is the CAASPP, which is included as an academic indicator on the California School Dashboard.  

As reported on the California Dashboard’s State Indicators, the district received yellow status for Chronic Absenteeism, English Learner Progress, and Mathematics, and green status for Suspension Rates and English Language Arts. 

In alignment with California’s growth-based accountability model, CVESD also demonstrated accelerated growth in English Language Arts and Mathematics, which reflects stronger improvement trends than neighboring districts with similar demographics.  

For the California Dashboard Local Indicators, CVESD met the standards in all five applicable areas:  

• Priority 1: Basics: Teachers, Instructional Materials, Facilities – Met 
• Priority 2: Implementation of Academic Standards – Met 
• Priority 3: Parent and Family Engagement – Met 
• Priority 6: Local School Climate – Met 
• Priority 7: Access to a Broad Course of Study – Met
