Parent Ambassador Program

The Chula Vista Elementary School District’s (CVESD) goal is to foster a sense of shared responsibility and accountability, supporting the home-school connection and ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all students (Goal 5 of the Local Control and Accountability Plan, also known as LCAP). As part of the initiative, CVESD is excited to announce the launch of the new Parent Ambassador Program. The Parent Ambassador Program is a district-wide initiative to strengthen the partnership between families, schools, and the district. This program will empower a network of parent/guardian leaders, one from each school site, to serve as liaisons who foster communication, promote district initiatives, and support meaningful family engagement.

Parent Ambassadors Will:

• Welcome new families to their school sites and guide them through school and district resources.
• Promote school and district programs (CVESD University, LCAP sessions, family events) with other CVESD families.
• Support school and district events as needed.
• Serve as a communication bridge between families and school leaders.
• Provide feedback and collaboration to the district through the Parent Ambassador Program.
• Attend Parent Ambassador Meetings every quarter at the district office.

Program Highlights:

• Ambassadors will attend quarterly meetings at the district office.
• Receive training, resources, and support to help lead family engagement efforts at their school site.
• Help shape district-wide communications and family engagement initiatives.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered, applicants must:

• Have a child enrolled in a CVESD school.
• Be available for all scheduled meetings and trainings.
• Be actively involved in their school community (PTA, volunteering, events).
• Be committed to supporting family engagement efforts.

 

Only one parent or guardian per school will be selected. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply today by clicking here. All applications are due by 5 p.m. on July 15.
