Greg Rogers and Feaster Charter Earn 2026 California PBIS Recognition

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is proud to celebrate two schools receiving statewide recognition for their work to strengthen student support and create positive school environments. Mae L. Feaster Charter School earned Gold recognition, while Greg Rogers Elementary School earned Silver recognition through the California Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) 2026 recognition program. 

The two schools are among nearly 2,700 schools recognized across California this year. PBIS is an evidence-based, tiered framework that supports students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health and helps schools strengthen the conditions that contribute to student success. 

PBIS is grounded in five interconnected elements: equity, systems, data, practices, and outcomes. Together, these elements help schools understand student experiences and needs, use data to guide decisions, provide staff with the structures and training needed to support students, and select evidence-based approaches that can be used throughout the school and within classrooms. The focus is on improving students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and academic experiences and outcomes. 

The framework also organizes student support across three tiers. Tier 1 provides a strong foundation of support for all students across school settings. Tier 2 adds more focused support for students with specific needs, while Tier 3 provides more intensive, individualized support when needed. This tiered approach allows schools to respond to different levels of student need while maintaining a strong schoolwide foundation for everyone. 

At Feaster Charter and Greg Rogers Elementary, the Gold and Silver recognitions reflect the ongoing work of staff to foster school environments where students feel supported, valued, and connected. As part of their recognition, both schools will be celebrated during the Annual California PBIS Conference, taking place October 7–9, 2026, in Sacramento.
