2024-25 Annual Speech Contest

2024-25 Annual Speech Contest

Congratulations to all Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) students that participated in the 2024-25 Speech Contest. Students in 4th, 5th, 6th, and middle school throughout the district delivered speeches answering the prompt: “A Letter to My Future Self.”

Over 100 students competed in the district-level semifinals, with 22 students making it to the finals. All finalists received monetary prizes thanks to the Chula Vista Noon Rotary and the Chula Vista Sunrise Rotary, who generously sponsored the event. The first-place winner of each grade level as well as the Honorable Mention winner, will present their speeches at the next Board of Education, Chula Vista City Council, City of Chula Vista Managers and Council, and Chula Vista Noon Rotary meetings.

Thank you to the judges who volunteered their time to participate in the event. Throughout the four-day event, we had communication professionals from the San Diego County Office of Education, Southwestern Community College, ABC10, Otay Water District, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, Energy Communications Corporation and Clock Consulting. In addition, we had volunteer judges from the City of Chula Vista, Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, Chula Vista Police Department, Border View Family YMCA & South Bay Family YMCA, Eastlake Educational Foundation, Chula Vista Noon Rotary, North Island Credit Union, McGraw-Hill, and Republic Services. The district is grateful for your support and dedication to helping our students find their voice.
