The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is honored to recognize five of its schools—Enrique Camarena, Anne and William Hedenkamp, Heritage, Fahari L. Jeffers, and Saburo Muraoka Elementary—for earning the distinguished Purple Star School designation for 2025. Awarded by the California Purple Star School Designation Program, this esteemed recognition acknowledges schools that exceed expectations in supporting military-connected students and families.
The Purple Star Program addresses the unique challenges military families face, including frequent relocations and transitions. Schools earning this designation demonstrate a deep commitment to providing comprehensive services, tailored programs, and strong support networks for their military-connected communities.
This year’s recipients join Corky McMillin Elementary School, which received the designation last year and will be celebrated at the upcoming San Diego County Office of Education Salute to Purple Star Schools event later this month.
CVESD is proud of their efforts and looks forward to continuing its support for military-connected families.
