CPR Training
Requirements
CPR/AED and first aid training are required for district applicants, classified staff, and permit teachers. The following positions require certification and renewal every two years:
- Bus attendant
- Noon duty supervisor
- Nurses
- School attendance secretary, health specialist
- School secretary
- Student attendant
We will accept certificates only from training through the American Heart Association or the Red Cross. The training must include first aid and adult and child CPR with AED. This information must be indicated on the certificate. Currently, we are only offering renewals for current employees. For any questions, please contact our Human Resources Department.

- Please note: CPR classes offered by CVESD are only available to full‑time district employees and teachers.
- Current substitutes and new applicants may refer to the Web Links and Resources section for approved external training options and locations.
- We do not accept online‑only CPR courses. All CPR certifications must include an in‑person skills test and demonstration.
