Ella B. Allen Elementary Earns America’s Healthiest Schools Award
Ella B. Allen Elementary has been honored with the America’s Healthiest Schools award by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation in the Bolstering Physical Education and Activity category. This award celebrates the school’s commitment to creating a vibrant, healthy environment for its community.
Guided by a collaborative effort among students and staff, Allen Elementary’s wellness initiatives have had a transformative impact. Under the leadership of Melissa Farlow, the school’s wellness lead and third-grade teacher, exciting new activities like GaGa ball and engaging track and field and flag football clubs have been introduced. These programs have expanded opportunities for students to stay active, promoting overall well-being. Additionally, staff members have embraced district-led fitness challenges, further embedding a culture of health and wellness across campus.
