Lowri Casimiro of Wolf Canyon Elementary Receives California All State Music Educator Award

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is thrilled to announce that Lowri Casimiro, the VAPA Music Director at Wolf Canyon Elementary School, has been awarded the prestigious California All State Music Educator Award Southern Border Section 2023. This remarkable accomplishment highlights Ms. Casimiro's outstanding dedication to music education and brings great pride to Wolf Canyon and the CVESD community.
The California All State Music Educator Award is a highly esteemed recognition within the music education field. The award acknowledges music educators' outstanding contributions to music education and dedication to nurturing and inspiring young musicians. This award exemplifies the outstanding talent and commitment that Ms. Casimiro brings to her role as the VAPA Music Director at Wolf Canyon.
Originally from the UK, Ms. Casimiro holds an impressive music education background. She studied viola and violin performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music, earning a Bachelor of Music Degree. She continued her studies in London, pursuing post-graduate performance studies at Trinity College of Music and obtaining a post-graduate education certificate from Roehampton, University of Surrey.
Ms. Casimiro's passion for teaching music has taken her worldwide. She has taught in prestigious international schools such as Bluewater International School in Koh Samui, Thailand, and Al Yasmina Academy in Abu Dhabi. Five years ago, Ms. Casimiro settled in San Diego, becoming a valued teaching artist at SDYS' Opus Community Project. She is also an Orff-certified teacher. In 2015, her dedication to her students' growth and music education earned her the VH-1 Save the Music Foundation's "Music Educator of the Year" award.
