Congratulations to all Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) students participating in the 2022-23 Speech Contest. Students in 4th, 5th, 6th, and middle school throughout the District delivered speeches to answer the question: “What does this world need?”
Almost 100 students competed in the District-level semi-finals. With 21 students making it to the finals. All finalists received monetary prizes thanks to the Chula Vista Noon Rotary, who sponsored the event. The first-place winner at each grade level will present their speeches at the next Board of Education and Chula Vista Noon Rotary meetings.
Thank you to our judges who volunteered their time to participate in the event. Throughout the four-day event, we had representatives from the City of Chula Vista, South Bay Family YMCA, Southwestern College, Chula Vista Noon Rotary, Sweetwater Authority, Chula Vista Community Collaborative, McGraw Hill/Achieve 3000, and Curriculum Associates. The District is grateful for your support and dedication to helping our students find their voice.
