School begins at 8:00 a.m. daily.  Students should not arrive on campus earlier than 7:45 a.m. unless they are participating in the breakfast program.

School Dress Code
Vista Square has a mandatory uniform policy of blue bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, sweats) and solid red, white, or blue top (without any writing, logos, or designs).  School sponsored club/activity shirts may be worn on Fridays only.  In addition, all jackets, sweatshirts and outerwear that are worn all day must also be solid red, white or blue colors.  If you need assistance with the uniform, please visit our nurse to see what resources are available to assist you.
The following dress will not be permitted:
• Gang-related clothing, colors, or style of wearing clothes
• Baggy pants
• Pants hanging at the hips
• Overly long-belts (the end of  belt may not hang down)
• Oversized belt buckles
• Bare midriffs/halter tops
• Obscene or offensive words or graphics on clothing
• Bandannas
• Drug, alcohol, or tobacco logos on clothing
• Dangling accessories (i.e., earrings, wallets on chains, etc.)
• Shirts longer than finger tip length, including T-shirts, are to be worn tucked in
• Baseball caps or team jackets, shirts, or outerwear
• Backless or open-toe sandals (i.e., flip-flops, high-heels). Shoes should be appropriate for P.E. activities.
• Temporary hair paint, glitter gel, false fingernails, visible temporary tattoos
• Pants which are ragged or cut on the bottom, or which drag on the ground
• Mini skirts or short shorts.
If your child comes to school inappropriately dressed, you will be contacted to bring a change of clothing.  The mandatory uniform policy will be required for everyone.
 
VESTUARIO APROPIADO PARA ALUMNOS
En Vista Square se usa uniforme obligatorio.  Los alumnos tienen que usar pantalones, shorts, o faldas azul marino con camisetas roja, blanca, o azul marino sólido (sin ningún tipo de escritura, logo o diseño).  Las camisetas de club/actividades escolares podrán ser usadas únicamente los VIERNES.  Además todas las chamarras sudaderas y sacos que son usados todo el día deben de ser de un solo color ya sea rojo, blanco o azul marino.  Si usted necesita ayuda para el uniforme escolar, por favor comuníquese o venga con nuestra enfermera a ver que recursos estan disponibles para ayudarle.
Las siguientes prendas no serán permitidas:
• Vestuario relacionado con pandillas como son los colores o los estilos
• Pantalones de tamaño muy grande para el estudiante
• Pantalones que los traigan  a las caderas
• Cinturones muy largos o que  cuelguen
• Hebillas muy grandes
• Blusas que dejen el torso descubierto o los hombros
• Palabras gráficas, ofensivas u obsecenas en la ropa
• Bandanas
• Logos que representen drogas, alcohol o tabaco en la ropa
• Objetos que cuelguen  (como aretes, que pueden ser peligrosos durante la clase de educación física, billeteras o cadenas, etc.)
• Las camisas deberán de estar fajadas y no estar muy largas
• Gorras de béisbol.  Chamarras de equipos deportivos
• Sandalias sin talón o zapatos con los dedos destapados). Zapatos deben ser apropiados para educación física
• Pintura temporal o diamantina en el pelo, uñas postizas, tatuajes temporales que sean visibles
• Pantalones que esten rasgados o cortados en la bastilla, o que se arrastren en el suelo.
• Faldas o pantalones que sean demasiados cortos.
Si su niño/a viene a la escuela sin estar apropiadamente vestido/a, se llamará a casa para que ustedes les traigan un cambio de ropa.
