Read with Target
On Wednesday, April 18th - Target is sponsoring an Earth day reading event for students in grades K, 1st, and 2nd. You will need to RSVP by Monday afternoon. Your child has a flyer in the backpack. You can also email the teacher or me. The event is Wednesday, April 18 from 2:30-3:30 in the multipurpose room. It is free. They will read some books and plant some seeds.
Pennies for Pasta
Also, the student council will be starting Pennies for Pasta. The presentation will be on Wednesday morning. The funds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The class that raises the most will have a Pasta feast from Olive Garden.
The Chula Vista Fun Run and Walk is approaching. The event is May 19th at the Olympic Training Center. You can check our website or office for flyers. It is only $10 per person if you sign up through the school. It’s a great time with exercise, food, and fun!
District & State Assessments
We start District Local Measures testing, CMA, CAPA, and STS testing April 16th. The CST will start on April 30th. That involves the students in grades 2-6. The APRENDA Test will be given May 10th and May 11th for the Dual Immersion students.
These last weeks are very important. Please make sure that you child is rested, at school, and on time each day. We want them to do their best!
