School Rules

The "Golden Rule" at Palomar is : Treat Others Like You Want to be Treated.
There are three basic rules:
1. Be Safe
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Responsible.
These rules may look differently depending on where a student may be. For example, "Be Responsible" in the classroom means to finish homework and classwork, but "Be Responsible" at the lunch table means to throw away one's own trash before going to play. Your child's teacher will discuss each of these rules during the first week of school.

School Dress Code

Palomar School believes that all students should dress to maximize learning as well as to ensure safety. Guidelines are printed in the Student Handbook and a letter regarding this issue is sent home to parents. Student clothing should be comfortable, yet appropriate for learning within the classroom as well as for exercising during physical education. Students may not wear spagetti-strap or halter tops. Shorts and skirts must be no higher than three inches above the knee. Hats may be worn with the brim of the hat facing forward. Enclosed shoes should be worn — no sandals or open-toed shoes. Inappropriate sayings and/or pictures on clothing will not be tolerated at Palomar School as that does not demonstrate mutual respect.
