School Dress Code
|
|
The School Site Council and staff at Finney recommend the following Dressing for Safety Standards:
- Any attire that may distract from learning or compromise safety should not be worn at school.
- Clothing should allow students to move comfortably and participate in P.E. and other school activities without compromising modesty.
- Clothing that is too large, low cut, short, or reveals midriffs or undergarments is not appropriate at school. Closed-toed shoes with backs are required at all times. Shoelaces must be tied securely so that shoes stay on feet.
- Clothing printed with inappropriate language, negative suggestive messages, or advertising drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or heavy metal groups may not be worn at school.
- If overalls are worn, both straps need to be fastened at all times.
- Students should not wear dangling jewelry to school. Dangling jewelry can get caught during P.E. and recess as children play and can cause injury. For their own safety, students may be asked to remove jewelry.
- Students may wear hats during recess, P.E., and other outdoor activities for protection from the sun. All caps must be worn with the brim forward.
