The library media program for our school is an integral part of the instructional process. This means that we will try to provide our school site with current library materials which will help supplement classroom textbooks and fill other needs, i.e., research assistance, current titles, and additional instructional materials, etc.
We provide a warm, positive, exciting atmosphere to help encourage our students to use the Rice Library Media Center for independent reading, learning, and discovery. We will encourage them to explore further into areas which are being taught in the classroom and to help students feel comfortable in reading for pleasure.
Our most important goal is to create a lifetime habit of using the library and resources. We firmly believe that: Everyone should be a life long learner.
We currently have over 13,569 books in circulation. Our student to book ratio is at 17.9. We are always in need of additional books.
