Dress Code
 
Uniforms are required at Rice Elementary School. All students are expected to be in uniform each day.

Please review the following guidelines and rules.
 
Tops (White, Red, or Navy Blue Plain)  Shirts or blouses must be a solid color. They must be polo style (with collars) or turtlenecks.  All shirts and blouses must have sleeves. Rice school T-shirts may also be worn.
 
Bottoms (Navy Blue Plain)   Pants, skirts, skorts, shorts or jumpers are acceptable. All bottoms must be fitted at the waist and must be hemmed or cuffed. Bottoms cannot extend below shoe tops. Belts must be worn if bottoms have loops. Short hems cannot be above the finger tips when the arms are relaxed on each side. Jeans are acceptable (no faded jeans).
 
Outer Wear (Navy Blue, White, or Red Plain)  Sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, coats and raincoats may be worn. Sports jackets (i.e. team insignia jackets) may not be worn. Outer wear must be a solid color like tops.
 
Shoes   Shoes must be close-toed tennis shoes appropriate for PE and running. Platform tennis shoes, platform shoes, open-toed sandals, flip-flops, boots, or high heels will not be allowed.
 
Dress code prohibits:
Clothing with logos, pictures, writing, or numbers (except Rice School t-shirts)
Hats
Flannel shirts
Starter jackets
Baggy clothes
Wallet chains/hanging belts
Platform shoes
Webbed belts
Mini-skirts/shorts
Hip-riders pants/shorts
Open-toed shoes
Exposed midriff or tight fitting clothes
Roller skates, skate shoes
