Parents are an integral part of the decision making process at Olympic View.
The School Site Council (SSC) meets monthly to review, revise and update the School Site Plan. This is to ensure student achievement through a rigorous academic program that offers equal access for all students. They oversee our SIP Budget and Categorical Funds.
The Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC) meets quarterly to make sure the needs of the ELL students are being met. To address the needs of our GATE population, parents have attended district meetings on the restructuring of the District GATE program and serve on the School Site Council.
The Olympic View Parent Teacher Club (OPTC) supports the school by providing funds and activities that benefit the whole school. Some of the programs funded by them are: a music teacher, field trips, library books, teacher grants, and technology. This year there are approximately 145 parent volunteers working in classrooms, the Rolling Reader Program, the library, the office, and in our school volunteer center.
