All volunteers and visitors must sign in at the office and wear a badge while on campus.
McMillin School welcomes parent and community volunteers. Assistance is needed in the classroom, library, office, and on the playground during lunch and recess. Please contact your child’s teacher to arrange a schedule.
Volunteers are asked to complete a registration packet once a year and maintain a current TB test on file in the office. The test must be retaken every four years. Please see the school secretary for a list of times and sites where you may obtain the test free of charge.
Should you be injured while you are volunteering at our school, you are covered by the District’s workers’ compensation program. It is extremely important that you report all injuries to the office immediately.
The State of California Education Code Section 35021 states that a person, who is required to register as a sex offender pursuant to Section 290 of the Penal Code, may not supervise pupils during breakfast or lunch periods or serve as non-teaching volunteer aides.
