Kindergarten
In order to promote the development of personal responsibility and to establish a positive learning atmosphere in our classroom, we appreciate your support in the following items:

Supplies
Thank you for providing a backpack for your child. Your child should bring their standard-sized backpack every day. It must be big enough to hold our large Tuesday Envelope. Toys are not allowed at school.

Attendance
If your child is late and our gate is already closed, you must take your child to the office to get a green slip before entering the classroom. If your child is absent from school, you may either call the office that day or send a note the following day to excuse the absence. When your child returns to school after an absence he/she also must check in at the office and get a green slip before class. If your child needs to leave school during the day for an appointment, please go to the office to check him/her out. The office staff will contact our room, and you may come pick up your child.

Clothing
Please be sure all backpacks and jackets have your child's name marked on them. For safety reasons, please do not send your child to school wearing non-protective footwear(thongs, etc.). It is important to wear proper shoes for P.E. Please have your child wear clothing that he/she can handle with the least amount of assistance from adults.

Teacher/Parent Communication
Each Tuesday, a special white envelope used throughout the school will be sent home containing notices from our class, the office, and the PTA. Your child is asked to return the envelope the following day. Please do not bring the envelope or homework to class for your child. It is important that we take this opportunity to encourage responsibility on their part. If you need to speak with your child's teacher, please leave a message on their voice mail or send a note to school with your child. They will get back to you as soon as possible.

After-School Pick-Up
Please park and walk to the dismissal area to pick up your child. If your child will be picked up by a different person or is changing their bus schedule, please send a note stating the plan. This is a very important safety precaution! Please be on time for pick-up so that teachers can get to their other duties. If you are more than 5 minutes late, please look for your child in the office.
