School Description
 
Eastlake Elementary School is located South of San Diego, in Chula Vista.
 
Directions:  From 805: Head “east” on “H street” Follow “H Street” approximately 4 miles. Turn Left at the light on Eastlake Drive. Turn Left on Hillside Drive. Eastlake Elementary is on the right hand side of the street.
 
 
All visitors must check in with the office before entering the campus.

Eastlake is one of the three elementary schools in the Eastlake community that has been voted “Outstanding New Community” for the last seven years, due in part to the high level of educational excellence.
 
Eastlake Elementary School is one of 43 schools in the Chula Vista Elementary School District.  The school serves students from kindergarten through sixth grade.  It is located in the lovely community of Eastlake and serves the neighborhoods of Eastlake Hills and Eastlake Shores.  It was constructed during the 1989-1990 school year.  There are 20 permanent classrooms and 12 portable classrooms.  The school operates on a single track, year round calendar following a 45/15 schedule.
 
Eastlake serves as an ethnically diverse population of 610 students, with 49.3% Hispanic, 25.9% White/Anglo, 8.2% Filipino, 8.9% Asian, 6.4% African American, 1.1% Pacific Islander and .2% Native American students.
 
There are six languages spoken here and 27.9% of our students are designated as English Language Learners. In addition, the student populations consists of 9.0% GATE students, 4.0% Resource Specialist students, 2.0% Special Day Class students and 5.7% Language, Speech and Hearing students. The student mobility rate is 23.8% and 19.2% of the students receive free or reduced lunches.
 
Currently Eastlake has one principal and 31 teachers.  Twenty eight teachers are regular education teachers teaching in 27 classrooms.  In addition, we have one part time teacher as the Reading Resource Teacher, as well as one RSP teacher and one SDC teacher.  Twenty nine teachers are CLAD certified and one is BCLAD certified. Certified support staff consists of a Psychologist, a Nurse and a Language, Speech and Hearing Specialist.
 
Teachers, a Resource Specialist, a Special Day Class Teacher, and three Instructional Aides provide programs that supports the academic curriculum in the content areas including reading, written language, and mathematics. Strategies are taught to improve organizational skills, social skills, and increased on task behaviors.
 
Eastlake Elementary School has a strong sense of community. We pride ourselves on being visitor friendly, service oriented and child centered.  Our Eagle family works together in making decisions while accepting responsibility for the success of our children.  Academically, Eastlake continues to provide a rigorous, well-balanced education.
