Welcome to what will prove to be a very exciting and rewarding 2008-2009 school year! For families new to the Discovery learning community and our returning families, I want to encourage all of you to join the PTC (Parents, Teachers and Children) organization, as well as one of our three governance committees, and become involved in your child’s education and learning environment. Your unique contributions to our school are important and valued. We are all working hard to create open lines of communication between the home and school, and would truly benefit from your involvement.


As a charter school, it is important that our parents and community are aware of the school’s charter. As a charter school, we have made academic gains and maintain financial solvency. With the continued hard work of all of our students, staff and parents, Discovery will remain at the forefront of setting high standards of academic excellence. Thank you for working with your child each night on his/her homework, making sure that s/he is at school each and every day on time, and that s/he knows just how proud you are of them for being such a great kid!
