Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment Committee (CIA)

CIA will monitor the implementation of the curriculum, program models (i.e. GLAD, 6-Traits Writing, FLES, etc.) and the outcomes of Discovery’s academic program and student performance. Well-researched documents and organizations that publish the latest research will guide and assist this committee in developing and monitoring curriculum and assessments. The State Frameworks, State Standards, It’s Elementary, and professional organizations’ documents at the local, state, and national level, i.e. CRA (California Reading Association), NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics), etc., will assist and guide this committee in developing, implementing and monitoring curriculum, program models and assessments.
