The Casillas PTA has one focus - supporting quality programs and providing high quality educational experiences for all Casillas students.

The PTA's goals and initiatives for the 2007-2008 school year are high and aggressive but doable. They include:

1. Expanding the school library's books collection

2. New classroom computers and software

3. Emergency preparedness supplies and planning

4. Mini-grants for teachers

5. Sports and PE program support

6. Student assemblies

Many of the PTA's activities focus on providing opportunities for families to enjoy low cost or free events at school. Look for school dances, family movie nights, Fall Festival, Family Math and Science nights, and more.

Parent education is also a PTA priority. In the coming school year, the PTA will sponsor several Parents Empowering Parents workshops on topics related to parenting, student achievement, and child-safety. Each workshop is free and informative.

You can support the Casillas PTA by becoming a member, volunteering time, or joining one of the many working committees. Being part of the Casillas PTA is a great way to support students, meet parents and teachers, and put your talents to a good cause.
