District Assessments
Students in Grades K - 6 take a district Local Measures assessment in either English or Spanish in the Spring. This test assesses reading, writing, and mathematics. Additionally, students in Grades 3 - 6 will take an Algebra Quiz in the Spring.
English Language Learners in Grades K - 6 who have scored a 1-3 on the CELDT are assessed three times per year with the LAS Links Benchmark Assessment to help monitor progress in English language development.
In addition, school sites use the following types of assessment throughout the year to give a more complete picture of student performance:

The curriculum taught in the Chula Vista Elementary School District is based on the California States Standards in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Physical Education. Students are expected to know and understand all standards at their grade level.
