Certificated Positions

Chula Vista Elementary School District is committed to finding and retaining talented employees.  Please read the following procedures and openings for certificated positions.

New Applicant Procedure

This procedure is to be followed if you would like to placed on the District's Employable List and/or would like to become a Substitute Teacher for the District.

  1. Please use the following link to log on and register with EDJOIN:  Edjoin Login
  2. Then go to Edjoin.org to apply online by completing an online application.  Please check each pool for required documents that must be attached to your online application (such as but not limited to:  Copy of CBEST results, CSET, Official Transcripts and California Teaching Credentials).
  3. Download or print the "Confidential Recommendation Form - Certificated" document available here. 
  4. In the form, provide three professional references and have them complete and return directly to:

            Chula Vista Elementary School District
            Attn:  Human Resources
            84 East J Street
            Chula Vista, CA 91910

     5.  Once we have received your completed application and all the requested documents your application will be         
          reviewed by the screening committee and you will be notified by mail with regards to the status of your           
          application.  Timeline to process applications vary depending upon the completeness of your application.

Current District & Employable Certificated Employees Only 
  1. Open the attached "Application for Specific Certificated Position" available here.
  2. For "Transfer Application" click here.
  3. Save the document to your hard drive and include your last name in the file name.  PLEASE NOTE:  Only Word or PDF formats are acceptable. 
  4. Prepare a Narrative (not to exceed two pages).

            Your Application and Narrative MUST use the following format when you are saving the document:
            Site - Position - Position Number - Your last name - Application (or Narrative) 

     5.    Complete and e-mail the Application and Narrative to: Applicant@cvesd.org


            The Subject line of your e-mail MUST use the following format:
            Site - Position - Position Number - Your last name

            Example: 
            Arroyo Vista - Grade 6 - 321 - Smith
